How to donate items for the sale and this year's project/group/org receiving donations will be posted soon. The very first winter queer craft sale started in Marla's living room and was a true labor of love organized by Marla and Erin. And Erin, Cory, and Jess are excited to continue to build from that sweet living room sale with this year's two day event. 2019 vendors--application to vend is open til October 11th. As always, priority will be given to poc, working class, trans/GNC/NB, and disabled folks. We are only taking vendors that identify as part of the queer continuum. This event is being organized by Jess, Cory, Raquel, and Erin and our goal is to center both the work of queer, trans/GNC/NB, qtpoc, and working class makers/artists/crafters and in the culture of the event space. QUEER CRAFT is a curated market/fair and our selection process takes into consideration a number of factors including; lived experience, quality and diversity of work, variety of work and price points, amplifying new/lesser known makers. Oppressive or appropriate work or offerings is not welcome at QUEER CRAFT. QUEER CRAFT is a labor love, organized by a small group of folks, building towards our vision of a sweet event that celebrates our communities. |

Space Description: St John’s Community Center is tucked a little bit in from the sidewalk and the main entrance has both a ramp with handrails and a small set of stairs (3) to enter the space. There are two doors that open outward. We will have volunteers in the lobby available to open the doors. Once you enter the space, there is a small lobby with a kid’s area and some padded armed seating, with linoleum floors. The door to the auditorium is to the right with another set of double doors that open outward (will be propped open). The auditorium is linoleum with vaulted ceilings and bright (likely fluorescent) lighting with large floor to ceiling windows on two of the four walls. There are two exits outside from within the auditorium (one small door and two double doors to the loading zone), both only have stairs. There are two gender neutral bathrooms down a smaller hallway directly next to the auditorium and another set of bathrooms further away from the auditorium off of a large hallway. The reader and bodywork room is directly next to the auditorium with glass windows facing the auditorium with a single door entryway from within the auditorium and another door leading in from the center’s main hallway. The kitchen (and vendor break area) is at the end of the auditorium down a short hallway. The Kitchen has a roll top style serving window facing the auditorium. There is wifi available in the space and several outlets on each wall. We will have several extension cords but encourage you to bring your own if you must have electrical access. If you noted this in your application, this has been taken into consideration with table assignments.
Safer Space: If you are experiencing any harm or oppression while at the fair and feel able, please let one of the organizers know (they will be wearing identification) so they can support you as best possible. QUEER CRAFT is committed to fostering an anti-oppressive space.
